Launching a Culinary Hub
The Skript Kitchen is a small business based in Vancouver that offers a gluten-free commissary kitchen, cooking classes, and event space. The brand was created to fill a gap in the local market while supporting the founder’s vision of building a collaborative and supportive environment for culinary entrepreneurs.
Objective
The goal was to build a website and supporting content to introduce The Skript Kitchen’s services while the facility was still under construction. The website needed to attract potential food entrepreneurs interested in joining the gluten-free shared kitchen, while also showcasing cooking classes and the event space. Another key objective was ensuring the website would be easy for the team to update and maintain after launch.
My Contributions
I led the website build using Squarespace as the platform. My role included front-end web design, website architecture, content writing, and content creation. I worked with existing brand photography while also capturing additional photos and video to better represent the space, classes, and atmosphere of the business.
Creative Approach
Because The Skript Kitchen was a new brand, establishing visual and messaging consistency was essential. Using the brand guidelines helped maintain alignment across the website and social media platforms. At the same time, the early stage of the brand allowed room to experiment and explore creative ideas. I used a combination of tools including Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and OpenAI tools to efficiently bring the creative vision together.
Results
Within the first six months following the website launch and grand opening:
- The website received over 8,000 unique visitors
- The business gained three new kitchen memberships
- Hosted over 30 cooking classes
- Achieved a 10% increase in social media followers
The flexible site layout also allows the team to easily update pages and add new content as the business grows.

Conclusion
The website serves as the primary hub for The Skript Kitchen’s online presence. Clear information, engaging visuals, and easy navigation help establish credibility and make it easier for visitors to explore the business’s offerings. As the company continues to grow, the website will evolve alongside it; supporting new programs, classes, and partnerships while helping build a collaborative culinary community for small food businesses.
